Solid Brass Kelvin & Hughes 8" Full-Size Sextant

Solid brass Kelvin & Hughes style sextant. Modeled after the industry-standard sextants produced by Henry Hughes and Lord Kelvin for over 100 years. Antique finish over solid brass in a nautical brass inlaid mahogany box. Ships with a basic set of instructions for use. Has all of the working parts of an original model. May not be calibrated well enough for actual navigational use out of the box but it can be done.

The sextant was invented in stages over a number of years by several people. Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727), John Hadley (1682-1744), and Thomas Godfrey (1704-1749).
